About CAG
Our People
Our group comprises of elected committee members, business
leaders, concerned citizens and local and effected residents within the
community. The mix of different backgrounds, skills and expertise will
provide the group the necessary know-how to address this enormous task
on behalf of the community.
Behaviours and Standards
We will conduct ourselves in a transparent manner, be
streamlined and responsive to the needs of the community, in order to
realise our objectives and goals with respect to this long awaited and
necessary upgrade to this part of the Calder Highway.
Goals and Objectives
The Calder Action Group (CAG)
has been formed by concerned community members to obtain agreed,
committed and immediate funding, design plans and the letting of
construction tenders to upgrade and construct a safer and
improved Calder freeway. In the first instance plans will include access
and cross over bridges to address safety issues and reduce the number
road accidents and resultant deaths in the area. The length of road that
is of major concern stems along the Calder Freeway between the Western
Ring to Holden Road just past the Calder Park Thunderdome and Raceway.
The CAG will actively lobby
both the Victorian State Government and the Federal Government to
jointly fund desperately needed construction works to complete the
upgrade.
The CAG will
provide realistic justification together with a united Community
Voice to realise its objective.
Topics included in the
justification and lobbying process include:
- Road Safety
- Environmental Impact
- Economic
Competitiveness
- Growth Corridor
- Regional Centre
Impact
- Traffic Congestion
- Job Creation
- Impact on Regional
Tourism
- Future Vision and
Foresight
